Deck Archive: Betrayer

Submitted by James McClellan

<Archivist's Note: Man, this is a *big* deck. If you can't make it in real life, try http://www.deckserver.net for a game of Jyhad On-Line. It's damn scary, though, and take note of the creators' warnings.>

Introduction

The core strategy is Recruitment of your prey's vamps followed by Betrayers. Lots of Betrayers. Plan B is votes to hurt your prey, gain extra master phase actions etc, but most importantly to gain pool via the bribes. Weak combat to keep your voty vamps alive, basically.

This deck has been tested on-line in earlier versions, and i've also built a version of it in real-space. It is VERY effective, arguably too effective - since people see the deck, shit themselves and then conspire against you. It starts off with bleed and vote, moves on to Betrayer [which it keeps for the rest of the game, so combat decks are COMPLETELY hosed by it], and after ousting your first few preys it turns into a weenie swarm deck, usually [because you have recruited the littlish guys your preys brought out first, and now you have the pool to activate them]. The current version tries to correct a weakness of the earlier models, namely vulnerability to votes. I think it should work better, but we'll see.

The most annoying thing about the deck is shuffling the crypt in real-space. Also if you played it in a tournament it could be annoying time-wise as you searched for the vamp you'd just recruited. Probably the table would let you do this while other players were taking their turns, but you never know.

Crypt

You need one copy of each vampire, and you need your starting crypt to contain lots of small presence guys. Basically once you have your collection of one of each, you just slot in presence weenies as and when you get them. The more you have, the better the deck will work.
